Mindbody Pricing in 2026: What Studios and Gyms Actually Pay

As of September 2026, Mindbody publishes exactly one price. Its pricing page lists the Starter plan as starting at €99 a month per location when we opened it from Europe (the page localises to your region), and every other tier, Accelerate, Ultimate and Enterprise, shows a "Let's talk" button instead of a number. Reviewers who collected quotes in 2026 put Starter at $99 to $159, Accelerate at $259 to $279 and Ultimate from $499 a month per location. On top come payment processing at a rate that depends on your plan, a 20% marketplace fee capped at $30 on a new client's first purchase, text bundles and a branded app add-on with no published price. The worked example below shows how a single studio ends up spending five figures a year.
Mindbody pricing tiers in 2026: what the page actually shows
Mindbody's pricing page is open about how it charges and quiet about how much. The structure, in Mindbody's words:
| Plan | Price on the pricing page | What Mindbody says it includes | | --- | --- | --- | | Starter | From €99 a month per location, as shown to us | Business management, integrated payments, branded website widgets, a customised website, a listing in the Mindbody app, basic reporting | | Accelerate | Let's talk | Everything in Starter plus advanced analytics, room and resource management, Client Pick-a-Spot, promo codes and access to premium add-ons; the FAQ says booking confirmations and reminders by email and text are included from Accelerate | | Ultimate | Let's talk | Everything in Accelerate plus dynamic marketing lists, automated email and text campaigns with a monthly text bundle, a lead management dashboard and advanced client and growth analytics | | Enterprise | Let's talk | Personalised plans for multi-location and franchise businesses |
Other things the page states plainly:
- Pricing is per location, with unlimited users. You are not charged per login; your subscription rises when you add locations.
- No setup fee on any plan.
- Mindbody Payments is optional. If you use it, your rate is based on the plan you select and you talk to their team for custom pricing.
- Texts beyond the bundle cost a fraction of a cent (or local equivalent) each.
- The branded app is an extra service with your logo and colours. Mindbody claims 36% more bookings year over year for businesses that have one, but neither the pricing page nor the branded app page gives a price.
- Cancellation depends on your plan and billing terms, including any promotions you signed up for, and may require notice before your next billing date.
Some 2026 reviews describe an "Ultimate Plus" tier that bundles the branded app. It was not on the page we opened, so ask about it if the app matters to you.
What reviewers report Mindbody actually charges
Because the numbers are quote-only, the best public data is what customers report. Three reviews from 2026:
- Koalendar (August 2026): Starter $99 to $159, Accelerate $259 to $279, Ultimate $499 to $699 per location, processing 2.75% to 3.5%, branded app $75 to $250 a month. It says the figures come from user reports and Capterra, not Mindbody.
- Gymdesk (January 2026): the same tier ranges; US processing rates only by contacting Mindbody, while published international rates run from 1.99% to 3.6% plus a fixed fee for card-not-present and 1.75% to 2.79% for card-present.
- FitBudd (updated May 2026): card-present 2.99% plus $0.30, online 3.60% plus $0.30, branded app $249 to $299 a month standalone, and a claim that most 2026 contracts carry a 24-month minimum.
They disagree on processing and on the app, which is the point: the figures vary by region, plan and negotiation. Use them to sanity-check a quote, not as a price list.
Mindbody fees beyond the subscription
Payment processing
Mindbody's payments page says there are no additional monthly fees, setup fees or long-term contracts for processing and that you pay a per-transaction fee only, but it does not publish the rate. Membership renewals are usually card-not-present transactions, which every reviewer above prices higher than card-present. Ask for both rates in writing, including the fixed amount per transaction.
The Mindbody app marketplace fee
This one is published, on the pricing page itself. Listing your business in the Mindbody app is free. If an existing client books through the app, came through a tracked referral link or names you as how they found you, there is no fee. A fee applies only when the app delivers a client you would not otherwise have had: 20%, capped at $30 (or 30 in local currency), on that person's first purchase only. Every booking after the first is commission-free.
Promoted intro offers, dynamic pricing and the affiliate network are described on the Mindbody app page as performance-based, so you pay only when they generate a sale. Their rates were not on the pages that loaded for us, so check the vendor's pricing page or your quote.
A worked example: one studio, one location
Take a single-location studio with a couple of hundred members that wants Accelerate and the branded app, and picks up ten new clients a month through the Mindbody app, each buying a $150 intro package. Using the lowest reviewer figure for Accelerate and the published marketplace formula:
| Line | Arithmetic | Per year | | --- | --- | --- | | Accelerate subscription (reviewers, low end) | $259 × 12 | $3,108 | | Marketplace fee on new clients | 20% of $150 = $30 each, at the cap; 10 a month × $30 × 12 | $3,600 | | Branded app (reviewers' range) | $75 to $299 × 12 | $900 to $3,588 | | Software and marketplace total | | $7,608 to $10,296 |
Then processing. On $20,000 a month of member billing, $240,000 a year, every 1% of processing is $2,400 a year; at the roughly 3% reviewers report for card-not-present, about $7,200. So a studio that thinks it pays "$259 a month" is realistically spending $15,000 to $17,500 a year on Mindbody, before texts. A second location doubles the subscription line to $6,216.
The marketplace line is the one to read carefully. If those ten clients would never have found you without the app, $30 each is cheap acquisition. If they are locals who would have walked in anyway, you have paid $3,600 for nothing.
Hidden costs to check on your quote
- Per-location multiplication. Every site pays its own plan fee, so a three-site chain on Accelerate at the reviewers' low end is $777 a month before anything else.
- Term length tied to promotions. A discounted rate usually means a longer commitment; get the term in writing.
- Card-not-present rates for memberships. Most of a gym's revenue is recurring, so the online rate matters more than the counter rate.
- Attribution on the marketplace fee. Mindbody decides whether a client was new to you. Ask how it is determined and how you dispute it.
- The branded app's tier and price. Confirm which plan it requires and what it costs each month, since no page publishes either.
Who should stay on Mindbody
Plenty of businesses should. In a large city where consumers genuinely browse the Mindbody app for classes, the marketplace can deliver clients no other software will, and $30 for a first purchase is a good deal. Big teams benefit from unlimited users per location. If you use the whole stack, resource management, lead management, automated email and text, multi-location reporting, few platforms do all of it. And franchises need the Enterprise layer whether they like the price or not.
Who should look at a Mindbody alternative
The bill stops making sense in a few recognisable situations:
- You are a single-location gym or studio paying a mid tier plus the app and using a fraction of the features.
- You run two to five locations and the per-location fees are now your largest software line.
- Your members already know you by name and you want them opening your app, not a marketplace that also lists the studio down the road.
- You want the client relationship, the data and the store listing to be yours.
Alternatives with published prices
As of September 2026, from each vendor's own pricing page:
- Zen Planner: Studio from $99 a month, Essentials from $198, Ultimate from $348, scaling with active members rather than locations; a Branded Mobile App add-on at $39 a month; month-to-month billing with an annual contract on request.
- WellnessLiving: Starter at $69 a month, with Business and BusinessPro shown at promotional rates for the first two months; its white-label client app is an add-on without a listed price.
- Vagaro: the UK page showed £20 a month for one bookable calendar, with each additional calendar priced at $10 in the US up to seven, a 30-day trial and cancel-anytime terms. Built for salons and small studios rather than large gyms.
- Glofox: quote-only; the pricing page shows a configurator and no figures.
An owned app instead of a platform
The other route is to stop paying for a listing in someone else's app and have your own. At Codersy Apps we design, build and publish a branded iOS and Android app under your own name and logo in the App Store and Google Play, for a flat monthly price with no development fee and no per-member fee, and you can cancel any month. For gyms and studios that is a member app plus a staff app: multi-trainer scheduling, class booking, memberships, conflict prevention, analytics, and migration of your existing members and memberships. The price is quoted for your gym, you see a demo on your phone within 7 days, and the app is live in both stores in 3 to 4 weeks.
To be straightforward about the trade: an owned app does not come with a marketplace, so if the Mindbody app is where your new clients come from, you would be giving that up. It fits once your brand does the acquiring and the per-location fees, the app add-on and the first-purchase commission have become the expensive part. The comparison is on our Mindbody alternative page, the gym app page lists what is included, and should you build a custom app for your salon or gym covers the build-versus-buy question.
The bottom line
Mindbody pricing in 2026 starts at one published number, €99 a month per location on the page we saw, and everything above it is a quote. Reviewers put the real tiers at roughly $99 to $699 per location, with processing, a 20% first-purchase marketplace fee capped at $30, texts and an unpriced branded app on top. If the marketplace feeds your business and you use the full suite, stay and negotiate the term. If your members already know your name, run the worked example with your own numbers against a flat monthly app under your own brand, and get in touch if you want that number for your gym.
